High school seniors and college students exhibiting leadership ability

This scholarship, sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation is for students of all majors who are preparing to pursue or are currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree full-time at a U.S. accredited college or university.

To apply you need a personal statement of 500 to 1,000 words, two letters of recommendation, a copy of your Federal Student Aid Report (SAR), a resume and a recent photograph. They are looking for candidates that exhibit leadership ability.

 

Eligibility:

  • U.S. citizen or have permanent U.S. residency status
  • Currently/planning to be enrolled in the upcoming academic year as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited U.S. college or university
  • Have a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Exhibit leadership ability and participate in community service activities
  • Preference will be given to African-American students residing in a CBC Member district. Find your Representative here using your permanent or school address. If you are a resident of/students in New Jersey your senator is a member of the CBC.
