Why My School Rocks

Can you say that your school rocks? Are there are things about your school that you would like to change? Energize Students sponsors a series of contests that they call “Your Point of View Contest”. The 2015 Why My School Rocks contest requires that you submit both an essay and a video.  

Your essay must be between 1 1/2 and 2 pages in length (double spaced) and your video must be less than 45 seconds. Select one of the following topics:

Essay Topics:

Topics

  • Bullying / Meanness
  • Lack of career-related courses
  • Use of technology in schools
  • Lack of college preparation
  • Teacher evaluations & accountability

Judging:

  • Energize Students will choose the top 15 entries and then students will vote on the best submissions during the voting period between July 15 to July 20, 2015. The top 3 essays will be awarded a cash prizes.

Eligibility:

  • You must be a US Citizen or US legal resident.
  • You must submit an individual project (a project done by one person, not a group)
  • You must be between the ages of 14 and 19 (college freshman and sophomores are eligible if they meet the age requirements)
