Nursing Scholarships - National and Local

National

National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) offers the following awards for to honor Hispanic nurses for their work: Ildaura Murillo-Rohde Award for Education Excellence, the Henrietta Villaescusa Community Service Award, the Janie Menchaca Wilson Leadership Award, and the Sarah Gomez Erlach Humanitarian Award. Deadline: Early April.

Society of Women Engineers Local Scholarships

Young women who are interested in the science and engineering fields are encouraged to apply for the many scholarships sponsored by local chapters of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).

Each section has a different deadline. In general they range from February to March.

SWE Twin Tiers Scholarship

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is a national organization that empowers women to succeed and advance in the field of engineering. The Twin Tiers SWE branch is sponsoring a scholarship to encourage young woman to explore the field of engineering. To be eligible for this $2,000 scholarship, you must live in the following New York zip codes: 148**, 149**, 169** or be a resident of Bradford County, Pennsylvania.

Theodore Roosevelt Public Speaking Contest

The Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historic Site is sponsoring a public speaking contest for high school students in grades 9 through 12 who live in Western New York State. 

Using independent research, students are asked examine the life and career of President Roosevelt and write and deliver a 5 minute speech.
